Kaleigh Admire receives the Female Spirit Award

Posted

IMMOKALEE — Kaleigh Admire, special projects associate, received the Honor the Female Spirit Award at Pace Center for Girls’ Annual Summit held September 30 and October 1. Known for her relentless passion providing magical experiences for the girls who attend Pace, under her special projects umbrella, Admire manages the point-store, where the girls shop after earning points for behavior and attendance. She curates every girl’s dream shopping experience by securing items that are personalized to each girl’s requests. “Motivation to improve is such a significant part of what we do at Pace. I love bringing this experience to the girls to celebrate their successes,” said Admire.

Managing the point-store is only one of Admire’s many hats at Pace. She could be considered a fun-committee of one. Planning and execution of school programming such as Olympic Field Day and Wellness Day, keeps Admire busy. Said Admire, “no one can every know what each of these girls has gone through. I love to provide them opportunities to take a break from their classes and learn more about themselves through these programs.”

Admire also oversees the community engagement for the center. In this capacity, Admire keeps supporters informed and expands the public awareness of what is happening at the center. “Both of these aspects are so important to spreading our mission,” said Marianne Kearns, Executive Director. “We are so proud of Kaleigh and so excited for her to receive this recognition.”

Held virtually for the second year in a row, the All About Girls Summit celebrated the many achievements of the Pace Center for Girls organization while making it clear that there is still much work to be done to create a world where girls and young women have power in a just and equitable society.

In addition to Admire, several of the Collier center staff received top nominations including, Kelly Starke for the Seeking Excellence Award, Jama Thurman for the Create Partnerships Award, and Tiana Mallory for the Value the Wisdom of Time Award. Mallory, who sings locally, was also a finalist for the annual talent competition. “It was a great summit for our center in Immokalee,” said Kearns. “These ladies are so deserving of their recognitions after working so hard with all the girls.”

Pace Center for Girls Collier serves “at risk” girls between the ages of 12-18 by providing strengths-based, trauma-informed, and gender-responsive academics and social services. Pace values all girls and young women, believing each one deserves an opportunity find her voice, achieve her potential and celebrate a life defined by responsibility, dignity, serenity, and grace.
