OKEECHOBEE — The Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee participated in the annual Souper Bowl of Caring last week. The Souper Bowl of Caring is a nation-wide food drive traditionally held the week before the Super Bowl.
The Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee and the visiting Sunrise Kiwanis Club of Fort Pierce combined to donate $778 and over 50 pounds of food to the Mission House of the First Baptist Church of Okeechobee.
Ken Platt represented the Mission House and spoke to the clubs about what they do, how they would use the donations and how they distribute food to the needy.
