Lake Okeechobee Elks seek members

OKEECHOBEE — The Lake Okeechobee Elks Lodge, a non-profit organization, is seeking members.

They also need volunteers, donations, and sponsors for the upcoming Elk’s Charity Backyard Sale planned for Saturday, Oct. 16, as well as the Halloween Extravaganza planned for Saturday, Oct. 30..

For those interested in attending, the Backyard Sale will be held at 1902 S. Parrott Ave. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind Freedom Baptist Church. The Halloween Extravaganza will be held at the Agri-Civic Center, S.R. 710 E., from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Lake Okeechobee Elks meet at the Brahma Bull Restaurant, 2405 U.S. 441, on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. A meet-and-greet is open to the public at 6 p.m. and the members-only meeting begins at 7 p.m.
