Lake Okeechobee Habitat Management Plant meetings have been postponed

Posted

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is postponing public meetings scheduled to gather feedback on the draft Lake Okeechobee Management Plan.

The two meetings were scheduled for Clewiston on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the John Boy Auditorium in Clewiston and Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Okeechobee Civic Center in Okeechobee. FWC staff will readvertise public meetings to gather feedback when updates are available.

Lake Management Plans are comprehensive, covering the FWC’s management of a system’s fish, wildlife, and habitats. Plans cover management activities within the FWC’s jurisdiction, while providing recommendations to partner agencies. FWC management activities can include, but are not limited to, habitat protection, restoration and enhancement, fisheries management and invasive plant management.
