It has been a fun few months!

I attended the Governor’s inauguration on Jan. 3 and was invited to a pre-inauguration party by my DeSantis contact. I was introduced to Tammy Marcus, President of the Florida PBA- Probation Benevolence Association. She talked me into going on a ride along with our local office so I could see, as an elected official, what they do for the community. She set it up and Feb. 27, I went with Officer Angel and Circuit 20 Circuit Administrator Michelle King( pictured). We did a little “Charlie’s Angels” pose having fun

I attended the annual Chamber of Commerce Dinner at the LaBelle Civic Center. Great night of fun with the theme of “Disco Fever.” I placed second in the costume contest, first place was Jason Dyess, but was lucky to win free pies for a year from Two Peas Restaurant and a ice cream maker in the silent auction!!

I was invited to attend the Governor’s Press conference in downtown Ft Myers, at the Oxbow Bar & Grill, on March 17 (St. Paddy’s Day). Governor DeSantis talked about the progress and the area’s recovery from the devastation of Hurricane Ian. He announced more than $7 million from the Florida Disaster Fund to support small businesses in SW Florida. He also made a special appearance at the City Tavern, where the streets were closed and a St Patrick’s Day celebration was under way. I had the honor of shaking his hand and thanking him for all he’s done for SWFL and the state as a whole. My wife, Natasha and I, were able to have our picture taken with the Governor. My goal is to establish relationships at the state level to bring attention to our needs in the City of LaBelle.
