Speech Contest is open to students in 6th - 12th grades

OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee Soil and Water Conservation District invites any student in sixth through 12th grade in Okeechobee County to participate in the “Healthy Soil, Healthy Life” speech contest. The deadline to enter the contest is Tuesday, April 12 and the contest will be held on Tuesday, April 26.

Prizes: First place is $200, second plate is $150, and third place is $100.

Provided there is enough participation, the district contest may be divided into two categories (6-8 & 9-12) with the highest overall scoring students from each category advancing to area contests.
