BELLE GLADE — At approximatley 5:55 a.m. on Thursday, Jan.21, a 2006 Freightliner truck, operated by Adrian Rosado, 39, of Miami, was traveling northbound on Hatton Highway at the intersection of State Road 80.

A 2006 Chevrolet Impala, operated by Richard Allen, 56, of Belle Glade, was traveling eastbound on State Road 80 approaching the intersection of Hatton Highway.

A 1999 Toyota Tacoma, operated by Jorge Davilla, 53, of Belle Glade, was eastbound on State Road 80 approaching the intersection of Hatton Highway behind the Chevrolet.

The Freightline entered the intersection under a flashing red traffic signal into the path of the Chevrolet. This caused the front of Chevrolet to collide with the driver side rear of the trailer of the Freightliner.

As a result of the collision the Freightliner stopped and the Chevrolet continued under the trailer and became stuck.

The Toyota entered the intersection and the front of the vehicle collided with the driver side rear of Chevrolet. Upon impact the Toyota rotated clockwise and came to rest next to the Chevrolet.

The Chevrolet came to rest under the trailer of Freightliner in the intersection.

It was reported that Mr. Allen, operator of the Chevrolet, was prounounced dead on scene.

Mr. Davilla, operator of the Toyota, was treated by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue on scene due to injuries sustained during the collision. Mr. Rosado, operator of the Freightliner, did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision.

The conditions in the area of the collision were extremely foggy and visibility was greatly reduced.
