Miller Construction completes $9.8M full-service boating center with dealership

Lake and Trail USA Boat Dealership with retail component set to serve Florida’s Lake Okeechobee and the surrounding community

OKEECHOBEE — Miller Construction Company, a statewide, privately-held construction firm, delivered $9.8-million Lake and Trail USA boat dealership and retail store in Okeechobee Florida. The 26,425-square-foot new construction project was completed for Bassin Bobby Enterprises, Inc. Construction began in September 2021.

Located at 1253 Highway 78, on the north side of Lake Okeechobee, the tilt-wall structure is equipped with powered roll-up doors, millwork, epoxy flooring and polished-concrete flooring. The dealership facility includes a first-floor showroom with an office component while the second floor features a mezzanine used to display high-end bass boats and other fishing-related electronics and equipment. The full-service boating center also includes a retail storefront, maintenance garage and fueling station.

“Miller’s statewide presence grows with the completion of this project that serves the local community in Okeechobee along with vacationers to the area,” said Brian Sudduth, President of Miller Construction Company. “Our team’s streamlined process assisted in fast-tracking the schedule to ensure the on-time completion of the center.”

Miller’s preconstruction team was extremely important during Value DesignSM to meet the owner’s budget and procurement of materials for Lake and Trail. With supply chain issues looming, the team assessed the needs of the project early on and ordered materials months in advance to ensure a smooth construction process. This included the early procurement of steel and roofing materials needed to timely complete the project.

The project team included Barranco Gonzalez Architecture, Kamm Consulting Engineers (MEP), Bryntesen Structural Engineers, Sumner Engineering & Consulting (Civil) and Doug Watt, Inc. as Owner’s representative.
