OKEECHOBEE -- Mosquito control spraying is scheduled for Monday, Dec.  5, through Wednesday, Dec. 7, with a possibility of Thursday, Dec. 8,  if needed.

Treatment applications will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Clarke Environmental will be conducting adult mosquito control spraying throughout the county during the overnight hours in the north and southwest area of Okeechobee County by truck mounted Ultra Low Volume (ULV) sprayer.

Tod Hardacre, Emergency Management Director reports "over 180 road miles will be treated weather permitting."
Okeechobee residents are encouraged to report high concentrations of mosquitos to the Clarke Mosquito Hotline at 1-800-203-6485.

Residents can also help by:
• Removing standing water in water bowls, bird baths and plants etc.
• Keeping grass cut short.
