OKEECHOBEE -- Students and staff of Okeechobee Christian Academy participated in the annual See You at the Pole Day on Wednesday, Sept. 22.

The event was led by OCA's student government, and Tom Pasquarella, affectionately known to students and staff as Mr. P. stopped by to give a short message. Mr. P was hospitalized for seven weeks with COVID-19, and spent most of that time on a ventilator. He is planning to be back in the classroom in October, and his students are looking forward to it.

See You at the Pole began oin 1990 with 10 students meeting around the flagpole of their school. Now, it is celebrated by millions of students on campuses around the country. 

It is celebrated on the fourth Wednesday in September each year, and even in public schools, students can participate as long as the event is student led.

Students meet to pray for their schools, their friends, their families, their teachers and their nation.
