OKEECHOBEE – The Okeechobee County Board of Commissioners will meet Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 8:30 a.m. in the Historic Okeechobee County Courthouse, 304 N.W. Second St.
The meeting will start with the installation of Commissioner David Hazellief, District 1; Commissioner Bradley G. Goodbread, District 3; and Commissioner Kelly Owens, District 5. All three won their bids for re-election in the 2020 election.
Also on the agenda for the Nov. 25 meeting:
• Dustin Jurman, CEO of Rapid Systems Corporation will give a presentation on the Broadband Feasibility Study. The board will consider whether to engage Rapid Systems Corp. to do a Broadband Feasibility Study for Okeechobee County in the amount of $25,000 to be funded by CARES Act dollars.
• Commissioners will conduct a county briefing to receive an update on COVID-19 from the public safety director and county administrator as it relates to various scenarios and how it may affect the public, employees and its operations.
• Commissioners will consider approval of the Interlocal Agreement between Okeechobee County and the City of Okeechobee for Fire Services.
• Libby Pigman of the South Florida Water Management District will give a presentation on the Nubbins Slough New Pump Station.
