Okeechobee County 4-H Club County Events competition is April 11

OKEECHOBEE -- The Okeechobee County Extension Office will hold the annual 4-H County Events competition on Monday, April 11, at the Okeechobee Civic Center on U.S. 98.

4-H members who wish to compete must register online by Friday, April 8.

Competitions are by age category: Junior (8-10, as of Sept. 1, 2021); Intermediate (11-13 as of Sept. 1, 2021); Senior (14 and up, as of Sept. 1, 2021); Cloverbud (5-7, as of Sept. 1, 2021).   Cloverbuds may participate but will not be scored.

Categories include: Public Speaking:  Participants give a speech. They may use cue cards but no props; Demonstration or Illustreated Talk; and Share The Fun.

Share the Fun may be an individual or group and can include any performance such as a singing, playing an instrument, dancing or presenting a skit.

Categories for Speech, Demonstration or Illustrated Talk include: Animals, Environmental Science, Plants and Gardening, Science and Technology, Citizenship and Leadership, Communications and Expressive Arts, Family and Consumer Services and Healthy Living.

County winners go on to the regional competition.
