Okeechobee County announces drainage project and road closure at NE 342nd Trail

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Okeechobee County has scheduled a road closure at Northeast 342nd Trail between Northeast Fourth Drive and Northeast Seventh Drive, to replace the existing drainage pipe to improve stormwater drainage within the area. Traffic is planned to be detoured to Northwest 366th Trail (a/k/a Osowar Road) for the duration of the road closure.

The road closure is expected to begin on Monday, April 18, at approximately 7:30 a.m. and continue through Thursday, April 21 at 5 p.m. (weather permitting)

This project is being completed by our County Public Works Department - Road & Bridge Division, which is expected to provide a cost savings to the taxpayers.

Drivers are urged to follow the detour route, drive with caution and plan ahead to allow for more time to pass through the area as the traffic volume on surrounding streets may be higher than usual.

For additional information on this project, please visit the County’s website at www.co.okeechobee.fl.us and/or contact the Public Works Department – Road & Bridge Division at E-mail: kpurvis@co.okeechobee.fl.us or Office Phone: 863-763-3514.
