• Okeechobee City Fire Department responded to 18 medical/EMS, six motor vehicle accidents and three false alarms between March 22 and March 28.
• Okeechobee County Fire Rescue responded to 131 medical/EMS, eight motor vehicle accidents, six aircraft standby, five fire related, seven canceled and 11 miscellaneous calls last week. Of 103 possible transports, seven were refused.

• Just before noon on March 25, OCFR responded to a call regarding a brush fire on Northwest 304th Street. When they arrived, they discovered the fire started while a truck drove around in the field. The grass under the vehicle caught fire and then the truck caught fire, burning it to the ground. There were approximately 50 acres of hay burning. The driver of the truck was uninjured but said his insurance would not be covering the loss of the truck or any of the survey equipment inside the truck because he only had PIP protection. The Department of Forestry (DOF) arrived with two plows and put lines around the fire while OCFR mopped up before clearing the scene.
• At approximately 3:15 p.m. on March 27, OCFR responded to a call regarding a brush fire on Northwest 310th Street. When they arrived, they found approximately 20 acres burning and kept it at bay until DOF arrived. OCFR assisted with mop up while DOF plowed lines around the fire.
• At approximately 4:45 p.m. on March 28, OCFR responded to a call regarding a power line down on Southeast 38th Avenue. The caller said a tree was on fire, but when the team arrived, the fire was already out. FPL was notified.
• At approximately 4:15 p.m. on March 28, OCFR responded to a call regarding a dumpster fire on U.S. 441 Southeast. When they arrived, they found a Waste Management dumpster with its contents on fire. They extinguished the fire and notified Waste Management.
