Okeechobee KOA is under new ownership

Posted

OKEECHOBEE  -- Okeechobee KOA is under new ownership.

On Jan. 21,  Okeechobee KOA became part of Encore RV resorts, a collection of high quality RV resorts across the Sunbelt. With its new ownership, Okeechobee KOA joins a network of more than 200 affiliated RV resorts and campgrounds nationwide, including Thousand Trails locations. The Thousand Trails and Encore team has been in business for more than 50 years and its RV resorts and campgrounds are widely recognized for their unmatched locations and customer service. In 2020 alone, more than 75 Encore and Thousand Trails affiliated resorts and campgrounds received the TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Award and 15 locations achieved the superior TripAdvisor Hall of Fame status.

"Our vision for the campground is to continue delivering an exceptional guest experience and help our customers create lasting memories at Okeechobee KOA. The property will remain a KOA brand, and our guests will continue to see team members in bright yellow shirts. Encore and Thousand Trails are not new to the KOA brand, as we own and operate six other campgrounds that have held KOA branding for many years," explained spokesperson Jennifer Ludovice.

"Okeechobee KOA is a beautiful campground resort. We anticipate our guests will have input and ideas on ways the property can be improved and would like to take the opportunity to learn and listen. We have already hosted three town hall meetings with our guests which generated many ideas and suggestions. We are very pleased with the turnout and the warm reception.

"We feel honored to operate a property that plays an important role within the greater community and are thrilled to partner with the community of Okeechobee to continue that tradition with Okeechobee KOA. Okeechobee KOA is well known for the wonderful events enjoyed by guests and members of the public alike. We look forward to continuing that history of engaging activities as well as expanding to new events the community is interested in hosting. The KOA Convention Center is a valued resource among the greater Okeechobee community, and it will continue to be made available for rent by the general public once COVID restrictions are lifted.

"The safety and wellbeing of our guests and employees are very important to us, and we are following the COVID-19 guidance outlined by the CDC. This includes social distancing, wearing masks in common areas and implementing a cleaning regimen for common areas and rental accommodations that was established for us by an industry-leading third-party industrial hygienist to meet CDC guidelines.

"When we took over the operations of the property, we were pleased that many team members chose to remain here at Okeechobee KOA where our guests will continue to see friendly, familiar faces. We also have several positions we are looking to fill in order to ensure we continue to deliver the highest levels of service to our customers. To help accomplish this, we’ll be hosting a job fair at the Convention Center on Friday, Feb. 26 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We’re hiring for positions in management, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, golf operations, food and beverage, retail, and landscaping. Anyone interested in employment with us is encouraged to apply online and join us at the job fair for an interview. To apply online, please visit www.equitylifestyleproperties.com and click on the “Our Culture & Careers” tab and enter “Okeechobee” in the “Search for Jobs” field.

"We are thrilled to be part of the rich tradition of Okeechobee KOA. We are excited to work with our staff and customers to enhance the guest experience. We also look forward to engaging with members of the community to ensure the property continues to be a destination for visitors and locals alike."
