Okeechobee Waterway lock closures for Manatee Protection System maintenance

The US Army Corps of Engineers will have scheduled 4-hour closures at the Canaveral, W.P. Franklin, Ortona, Moore Haven, Port Mayaca and St. Lucie Locks from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m. at locations and dates listed below to support annual maintenance to the Manatee Protection System.
• W.P. Franklin, Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 1 and 2
• Ortona, Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 3 and 4
• St. Lucie, Friday and Monday, Feb. 5 and 8
• Moore Haven, Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 9 and 10

• Port Mayaca, Thursday and Friday, Feb. 11 and 12
• Canaveral, Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 16 and 17
• Contingency day if needed, Thursday, Feb. 18

Additional locking hours may be available based on the contractor’s work. Call the Lock shift operator for current information.
