OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee Agri-Civic Center, located at 4601 State Road 710 East, will hold the following in events in May:

• Tuesday, May 4, 6 to 9 p.m — Recreational Riding — Recreational riding nights are an opportunity for local residents to ride their horse in the covered arena. You must have a current Coggins certificate.

• Thursday, April 29 through Saturday, May 1 — 2021 Florida High School Rodeo State Finals — Okeechobee welcomes the State Finals rodeo back to the Agri-Civic Center. The top 15 competitors in each event compete for the honor of representing the State of Florida at the High School Rodeo National Finals in Rock Springs, Wyoming. There is no charge for the public to attend, and a concession stand will be open.

• Saturday, May 8, 4 p.m. — The Awakening — A Christian Rock concert featuring Decyfer Down, The Protest, Relentless Flood, and Jenna Parr. Gates open at 3 p.m. Tickets available at www.itickets.com.

• Saturday, May 15 and Sunday May, 16 — All Florida Junior Rodeo State Finals Youth rodeo contestants from all over the State of Florida come to Okeechobee to compete in the State Finals for ages 14 and under. There is no charge for the public to attend, and a concession stand will be open.

• Thursday, May 20 — Fast & Furious Barrel Racing Buckle Series — Exhibition runs start at 5 p.m., Open runs start at 7 p.m., Youth follows the Open. There is no charge for the public to attend, and a concession stand will be open.
