Once Upon a Time . . . at Barron Library

LaBelle - Just because your children cannot come to the library for the summer programming, does not mean we have forgotten them. To participate in everything, please follow Barron Library on Facebook, and join the Facebook private group as well. The private group will link you to Page Turner Adventures Virtual Summer Program.

Here is a list of events to participate in through Facebook:

Monday through Friday – a Page Turner Adventure event will be posted daily.

Monday through Friday – a direct link to the suggested reading will be posted for your preschool and elementary age children.

Tuesday 10 a.m. – Tune in for Preschool Story Time

Wednesday 10 a.m. – Tune in for Toddler Time

Follow along the reading of “The Magician’s Elephant”, by Kate DiCamillo, a chapter at a time.

Reserve weekly crafts by calling the library at 863-675-0833.

CHALLENGE: We are challenging your elementary and middle school children to get creative and write their own ‘Once upon a time’ story, a fairy tale, fantasy, or myth.

ELEMENTARY – A Six Word Story: Once Upon a Time with pictures. Utilize only six words to tell your story, pictures should be included to further illustrate the story.

MIDDLE SCHOOL – Write a fiction or non-fiction short story using the theme, ‘Once Upon a Time’. The short story should be between 400 – 600 words. This must be an original short story written by the child making the submission, and may include pictures.

All entries should be submitted no later than July 24. Winners will be selected and announced August 3.
