Operation Bittersweet results in multiple arrests on drug charges

OKEECHOBEE - On April 14, Operation “Bittersweet,” a joint operation between OCSO Narcotics Task Force, DEA, FDLE, and HSI, resulted in the arrest of over 30 suspects dealing illegal and illicit narcotics within Okeechobee County.

In his original press release, Sheriff Noel E. Stephen talked of a broken system, repeat offenders, a facility in desperate need of uplifting, and the lack of enhanced punishment for repeat offenders.

Cpl. Jack Nash said, “The Bittersweet suspects had a collective history of arrests equaling  368 times, just in Okeechobee County.

The following were among those arrested this week:

• Wendall Bradley, 44, Wesley Chapel, Fla. was charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a specified area and sale of fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a specified area. Bond was set at $120,000.

• Terence Byrd, 51, Northeast 11th Street, was charged with the sale of cocaine withing 1,000 feet of a specified area and possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a specified area. Bond was set at $120,000.

• Melissa Carnley, 34, Northeast Second Street, was charged with the sale of cocaine and possession with intent to sell. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Jonathan Jenkins, 27, Northwest Fourth Street, was charged with the sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a specified area and possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a specified area. Bond was set at $160,000.

• Sherry Lightsey, 64, Northwest 27th Avenue, was charged with the sale of methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Lavonda McBride, 38, Northeast 13th Avenue was charged with the sale of cocaine and possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park. Bond was set at $160,000.

• Jason Milner, 41, U.S. 441 Southeast, was charged with possession with intent to sell and sale of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $120,000.

• Rahmin Warner, 20, Northeast 13th Avenue, was charged with the sale of and possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a specified area. Bond was set $120,000.

• Stephanie Perez, 41, Northeast 30th Terrace, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine. Bond was set at $100,000.

• Walter Saunders, 39, U.S. 441 South, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Joshua Stevens, 35, Southeast 95th Trail, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Rufus Tiger, 52, Northwest 110th Street, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and sale of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Richard Tijerina, 38, Northeast 30th Terrace, was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. Bond was set at $100,000.

• James Towson, 67, Northeast 10th Avenue, was charged with possession of and sale of cocaine. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Andrew Jackson, 46, Northeast Fifth Street, was charged with possession of and sale of cocaine and with possession of and sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park, possession of fentanyl, possession of MDPV, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to sell. Bond was set at $441,000.

• Billy Bailey, 42, Southwest Sixth Street, was charged with possession and use of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $6,000.

• RJay Armstrong Jr., 37, Northwest 30th Street, was charged with possession of and sale of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Lavoski Jackson, 42, Northeast Sixth Street, was charged with possession of and sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a specified area and possession of and sale of cocaine. Bond was set at $240,000.

• Adam Murphy, 33, Northwest 36th Terrace, was charged with possession of and sale of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Tharo Shanks, 43, Northeast 13th Avenue, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell and delivery of cocaine. Bond was set at $120,000.

• Matthew Cole, 32, Winter Haven, was charged with possession of and sale of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $120,000.

• Maria Dusen, 48, Northeast 13th Avenue, was charged with possession of and sale of cocaine. Bond was set at $120,000.

• Corey Hardy, 40, Northwest 12th Street, was charged with possession of and sale of cocaine. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Scott Heckerman, 43, Saint Cloud, was charged with sale of and possession with intent to sell methamphetamine. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Techalin Joseph, 34, Northeast Fourth Street, was charged with possession of and sale of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $120,000.

• Tanya Law, 35, Northeast Seventh Avenue, was charged with possession with intent to sell and sale of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Juan Mata Jr., 48, Northeast Sixth Avenue, was charged with sale of methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Steven Mills, 32, Southeast 23rd Court, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and sale of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Tiffany Murphy, 32, Northwest 38th Avenue, was charged with sale of and possession with intent to sell a controlled substance. Bond was set at $80,000.

• Shane Pahl, 29, U.S. 441 Southeast, was charged with possession of and sale of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $120,000.

• Alonzo Autrella Palmer, 29, Northeast 11th Street, was charged with trafficking in and possession with intent to sell cocaine. Bond was set at $140,000.

• Lisa Williams, 36, Northwest 30th Street, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and sale of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $80,000.
