PAHOKEE – Lawanda Thomas Daycare was honored as a Business of the Month at the Pahokee City Commission meeting on Jan. 25 in recognition of outstanding service to the community. Commissioner Clara Mervin said the daycare is unusual because they teach the children life skills. “It’s my passion,” said Thomas. “The kids are our future. I try to teach them everything.”
