Paul Revere Walk/Run boasts 1.776K of fun

LABELLE- LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation invites everyone to come celebrate America's birthday with the “Not-Quite-Midnight Run/Walk of Paul Revere” 1.776K fun run. The fun run will begin at 7 p.m. at the LaBelle Nature Park and Captain Hendry House, located at 440 Fraser Ave, and boasts 1.776k of scenic views through Downtown LaBelle.

Racers will head East on Frasier Avenue, left on Riverview Drive, right on Hendry Street, left on Fraser Avenue, left on Campbell Street, right on to Curry Street, left on Hampton Avenue, left on Main Street, right on DeSoto Avenue. The Run/Walk will end at the American Flag Mural at Barron Park.

The first 100 paid registrations will include a t-shirt, cap light or flashlight, and two glow sticks. You can visit the LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation office at 8 Park Ave, in LaBelle, on Friday, July 2, from 2 to 6:30 pm for t-shirt pickup. T-shirts can be picked up on race day at the starting location of the race.

Pets are allowed, however, with that being said, LDRC asks that you please keep the safety of your pets in mind: “We ask that you bring supplies for giving your pet water and take the necessary precautions to ensure your pet's safety. Please bring bags to pick up your pet’s waste. Please bring short (4 feet or shorter) leashes. Please no flexible leashes.”

LDRC and its fine sponsors will be celebrating with its annual Fourth of July event that begins at 4 p.m. and includes live music, cold beer, a chicken wing cook-off, vendors, waterslides, and more. The City of LaBelle Fourth of July fireworks will begin at dusk.

LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation's mission is to encourage the redevelopment of LaBelle through public, private, and nonprofit investment in the downtown.

The fun run is sponsored in part by U.S. Sugar, Premia Fitness, Rocket Cooling, Caloosa Belle, Lake Ochochobee News, SouthCentralFloridaLife.com, the City of LaBelle, and Hendry County Tourism.
