LABELLE —A pedestrian died Sunday after being struck by a vehicle on SR 80 in LaBelle.
At approximately 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, a 41-year-old man operating a pickup, was traveling westbound on State Road 80 (Hickpochee Avenue) on the inside lane, approximately west of Hendry Street.
A 60-year-old man, pedestrian, was on the north sidewalk of and attempted cross the westbound travel lanes. The front of the pickup collided with the pedestrian. The pickup and the pedestrian came to final rest in the area of the collision.
It was reported that the pedestrian received fatal injuries sustained in the collision.
The traffic accident was investigated by Trooper Carratala and Homicide Investigator Corporal Wargo.
