Pennsylvania woman seriously injured in Moore Haven accident

MOORE HAVEN -- A North East, Penn. woman was seriously injured in a two vehicle crash in Moore Haven on Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

According to the FHP report, at 7:09 a,m. on Nov. 8, a 63-year-old Pennsylvania woman was driving a sedan (vehicle 1), traveling west on Third Street and came to a stop for the stop sign located at US 27. 

A 19-year-old Clewiston woman, also in a sedan (vehicle 2), was traveling north on US 27 in the outside lane.

The Pennsylvania woman failed to yield the right of way and entered the intersection.

The front of vehicle 2 collided with the left rear of vehicle 1 in the intersection, the FHP report explains. Both vehicles came to rest in the area of collision.

The 63-year-old woman  was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.  The 19-year-old received minor injuries.

Both drivers had their seatbelts on at the time of the crash, according to the FHP report.
