OKEECHOBEE — Jay Molyneux (left) was presented with a Purple Heart Cane by President Jim Pippin (right) of the Okeechobee Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. The Purple Heart Cane is presented to veterans who have earned a purple heart in combat. The Cane was hand carved by Indian River Woodcarvers in Sebastian, and is personalized with the veteran’s military information inscribed on the body with an eagle on the top. Jay served in Vietnam and was wounded in action in 1967.
