SFWMD’s contractor to begin construction on Townsend Canal Grade on Aug. 4

HENDRY COUNTY – The South Florida Water Management District’s (SFWMD) contractor, Lane Construction, will start reconstructing Townsend Canal Grade in order to install sheet piling as part of the C-43 Reservoir project.

The work on Townsend Canal Grade is expected to commence Aug. 4 and will be completed May 4, 2022 for a total of approximately 180 construction days. The project is being funded by the SFWMD.

There will be lane closures and changing of travel lanes throughout the duration of the project. Residents and motorists should use extra caution when traveling through the work zone.

Please note that this schedule is tentative and subject to change. Hendry County will notify the public of any schedule changes.
