Silver Sneakers program means free gym memberships for many seniors

Looking for a senior gym discount?

 SilverSneakers many of those on Medicare free access to multiple gyms and fitness centers.

According to the silversneakers.com website, the goal of the SilverSneakers program is to help seniors stay strong in body, mind, and spirit. Regular physical activity keeps the heart, brain, bones, muscles, and joints healthy.

Members get a basic membership at any gym and participating location in the SilverSneakers network. Facilities, amenities, and classes vary by location, but if available, that generally means you can use: cardio equipment such as treadmills and rowing machines; strength equipment such as weights; and amenities such as walking tracks and pools.

The program also offers free, online classes in Zumba exercise, yoga, core conditioning, stretching, cardio, kickboxing, strengthening, mindfulness and more.

The program also has an on-demand video of prerecorded workouts.

There’s even a SilverSneakers GO app to take the program with you anywhere.
