FORT PIERCE — Indian River State College (IRSC) students were recognized for their leadership, service, achievements and excellence at the April 15 College Awards Ceremony. The event celebrated 85 distinguished scholars, six special award winners, five scholarship recipients and the All-Florida Academic Team members.
“At IRSC, we believe in our students and we will help them here in class and beyond. That’s what IRSC is all about - our students and their stories,” stated Dr. Timothy Moore, IRSC President. “Once they graduate and walk out of these doors, we still keep in touch with them. We love to hear about the difference they are making in the world. It’s personal at IRSC - our students are not just a number.”
2021 Special Award Winners:
• Academic Associate Award: Maria Hernandez Lopez (Port St. Lucie)
• Academic Baccalaureate Award: Lucas De Oliveira (Port St. Lucie)
• Community Service: Aryana Smith (Port St. Lucie)
• General Excellence: Linda Francis (Port St. Lucie)
• Leadership: Erifylli Maroutsou (International Student from Greece)
• Special Achievement: Jackie Geary (Stuart)

• Alyssa Carter (Vero Beach), representing the IRSC Massey Campus
• Christian Salguero (Palm City), representing the IRSC Chastain Campus
• Edward Teran (Port St. Lucie), representing the IRSC Massey Campus
• Erifylli Maroutsou (International Student from Greece), CCG President and student-athlete, representing the IRSC Mueller Campus
