Tax Collector Gannon supports reinstatement of facial covering requirement

WEST PALM BEACH — On Aug. 2, Constitutional Tax Collector Anne M. Gannon announced her full support of the Palm Beach County’s policy decision to require facial coverings for all county employees and public in all County buildings. This policy aligns with the Tax Collector’s policy announced last week requiring all employees wear facial coverings at all tax collector offices. Clients visiting any of the tax collector offices for in-person service will continue to be required to wear facial coverings as has been the case since last year.

“Despite being a fully vaccinated workforce and having discontinued a facial covering requirement for employees in June, and with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issuing their updated facial covering policy on July 27, we are once again requiring our employees to wear facial coverings in our offices,” said Gannon. “We have maintained throughout the pandemic that individuals visiting our service centers in person are required to wear a facial covering. It remains our top priority to provide a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and public, and I am in complete support of the county’s decision to require facial coverings in county buildings, in which we have several offices,” reiterated Gannon.

Individuals needing to do business with the Palm Beach County Tax Collector’s office are encouraged to visit www.pbctax.com for possible alternatives to visiting an office in person.
