Taxi ride ends in arrest of three

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Three Okeechobee residents were charged with possession of narcotics after their taxi was pulled over by the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force. Abigayle Ericson, 21; Jolene Curcio, 47 and Timmy Lee, 32, were arrested April 12 after members of the narcotics task force performed a traffic stop on the taxi they were in. The stop was for Ericson and Lee, who both had outstanding warrants out for their arrest. It took place in the parking lot of Hibbett Sports.

As the vehicle stopped, detectives approached and explained to the driver, Curcio, that they were stopping her because of the warrants on her passengers. She told them she was just giving them a ride but according to the detectives, she seemed very nervous. All the occupants of the vehicle were asked to get out, but Curcio did not want to exit.

After they all got out of the van, K-9 Samba was given a command to “Find dope” and alerted to the driver’s side door and seat. A search reportedly produced six syringes containing methamphetamine residue, some marijuana and a small baggie containing heroin.

Curcio was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $11,000.

Ericson was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $11,000.

Lee was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $11,000.
