SOUTH BAY – The Glades has too often been presented to the world as more of a “problem” than a community. “Voices of the Glades” is an attempt to change that by allowing our residents to tell their own stories and address community concerns.
Led by CyNedra Blake, a South Bay resident and an assistant executive director at the Clewiston Chamber of Commerce, and backed by several business leaders, clergy and government officials in Hendry and Palm Beach counties, the new digital platform will provide information and inspiration with the idea of uniting the area’s business, cultural and governmental interests.
“Finding real solutions, and not just making noise, is the only way to truly address longstanding problems and change the way things are in any society,” Ms. Blake said. “I believe this initiative will give our rich and diverse community a chance to come together, better understand one another and move our region forward.”
The Voices of the Glades website can be reached at voicesoftheglades.org. and comments from the community are encouraged.
