LABELLE -- Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and an FDOT contractor will be making improvements to the traffic signal on SR80 at West Cowboy Way (CR80A) today,Thursday, Dec. 9.

The work will occur in the evening between the hours of 6 p.m. - 5 a.m.

These signal improvements when completed will improve safety at the intersection and reduce traffic congestion.

Motorists are asked to use extra caution when traveling through the work zone and follow the Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) provided by the contractor. Law Enforcement will be present to ensure motorists comply to the MOT and for the contractor’s safety.

Semi trucks are advised not to use West Cowboy Way during the construction timeframe and to use an alternate route as no left turns will be permitted on to SR80.

Motorists who choose not to seek an alternate route should allow extra time for their commute.
