Well over 100 worshippers from many churches in Immokalee came out early Easter Sunday morning to celebrate together the resurrection of Christ Jesus. Around 7:30 we welcomed the bright sunshine in the morning light on the outdoor basketball court at First United Methodist Church on the corner of North 11th St., and Roberts Avenue. Beautiful congregational singing led by Pam Mallory of First Missionary Baptist Church, and special music by the members-adults and youth-from Beraca Haitian Baptist Church and Maranatha Haitian Baptist Church filled the air around the community. A powerful presentation of the gospel, using Revelation 1: 4-8, was delivered by Evens Saint Louis, pastor of Beraca Haitian Baptist Church. Thanks to the donation of Judy Crews on behalf of Southwest Service and Supply, a free breakfast was prepared and served by several ladies from Allen Chapel A.M.E. and First Missionary Baptist Church. The sponsoring agency-Immokalee Ministerial Alliance-received a free-will offering from those in attendance with all gifts going to the I.M.A. Senior Scholarship Fund of Immokalee High School. It is their hope to be able to provide at lead three $1,000.00 scholarships to deserving seniors planning on attending college this fall. Anyone from the community who would like to join us in this effort can send donations made out to One by One Leadership Foundation, Inc., and you will receive a tax-deductible receipt for you generosity. Individual or business gifts are gladly welcome! Checks-with a notation for I.M.A. Scholarship Fund can be mailed to 1400 N 15th St, Immokalee, FL 34142.
