Eleven South Florida non-profit organizations that fuel the imagination, education, and growth of local youth have been selected as recipients of a 2023 McDonald’s Golden Grant. A total of $38,000 has been allocated to various organizations, positively impacting the lives of hundreds of area children.

“The McDonald’s Golden Grants program, in its third year, continues to support educators and non-profit leaders across the state of Florida.” said McDonald’s Owner/Operator, Yoyi Rodriguez.. “On behalf of the South Florida Operator’s Association, we are honored to provide funding to assist this year’s winners. This year’s applications were superlative, and made the selection process more challenging than ever. Congratulations to this year’s winners, we cannot wait to see what impact this grant makes.”

Area grant winners included:

• $2,500– Kristy Zalud, Labelle: Labelle Middle School; and,
• $1,000– Patricia Buchanan, Canal Point: Katheryn E. Cunningham/ Canal Point Elementary.

Activities that qualified for a McDonald’s Golden Grant include technology, education initiatives, mentorship and empowerment programs, after-school programs, arts and crafts programs, community service outreach and sporting programs.

Winners will be recognized during presentations from November 2023 to January 2024, by local McDonald’s Owner/Operators.
