UPDATE 2: Friends of the family have started a fundraiser for the family of Eduardao Dayan Lopez Escobedo on gofundme.com.

The Gofundme.com page states: "It is with great sadness to share on the evening of September 14th, 2023 our nephew Eduardo Dayan Lopez Escobedo was taken from our family. For those of us that knew Eduardo know that he was the sweetest soul and very kind hearted. Our family is really hurting by this horrible tragedy that has greatly impacted our lives. His death was not an accident and totally unexpected this reckless criminal has yet to turn himself in and it hasn’t helped us grieve appropriately. We firmly believe that the power of prayer and help from our community can help us get through this tough time and answers we are pleading for. Some of you have reached out and asked how you can help us during this time. Know that your kindness is much appreciated as we navigate this heartbreaking moment. We kindly ask, if you are able to, to donate funds towards the funeral service, as we would love to give Eduardo the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes."
