HCSO will participate in Operation Southern Slow Down

Posted

HENDRY COUNTY — The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office will be making speed enforcement a priority between July 17-22, 2023 as we take part in Operation Southern Slow Down to protect lives!

The 2023 Operation Southern Slow Down is a traffic safety initiative designed to unify all of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama public safety agencies and partners, leveraging a longstanding tradition of collaboration. This initiative is aimed at reducing the high number of Speed Related fatality and serious injury crashes on Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama roadways by targeting speeding and aggressive drivers on our roadways.

Speeding can do damage that’s beyond repair. When you drive over the speed limit, even by a little bit, you put yourself and everyone on the road in danger. The result could be a serious injury or deadly crash. Know that speeding is illegal and affects everyone on the road.
