SOUTH FLORIDA — Saturday, May 11, will mark the 32nd anniversary of one of America’s greatest days of giving --- the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive. Letter carriers in West Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast will join other letter carriers in South Florida and across the nation to help those in need in their local communities.

Participating in this year’s food drive is easy. Just leave non-perishable food donations in a bag by your mailbox Saturday, May 11. Recommended items include cereal, pasta, pasta sauce or spaghetti sauce, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meals (such as soups, chili, and pasta), 100% juice, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned protein (tuna, chicken, and turkey), and beans. These donations go directly to local food banks and pantries for distribution to individuals and families in need.

NALC Branch 1690 represents letter carriers who proudly serve residential and business customers in Belle Glade, Clewiston, Fort Pierce, Jensen Beach, Jupiter, Lake Park, Okeechobee, Pahokee, Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Port Saint Lucie, Riviera Beach, Royal Palm Beach, Sebastian, South Bay, Stuart, Tequesta, Vero Beach, and West Palm Beach. ABOUT USPS
The United States Postal Service is an independent federal establishment, mandated to be self-financing and to serve every American community through the affordable, reliable, and secure delivery of mail and packages to nearly 167 million addresses six and often seven days a week. Overseen by a bipartisan Board of Governors, the Postal Service is implementing a 10-year transformation plan, Delivering for America, to modernize the postal network, restore long-term financial sustainability, dramatically improve service across all mail and shipping categories, and maintain the organization as one of America’s most valued and trusted brands.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
