Hendry County Road Watch Report

HENDRY COUNTY — The following column is the Road Watch report for Hendry County for the week beginning Sunday, August 20, provided by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones.

US 27 southbound in the area of Flaghole Road. (Maintenance project) Crews will shift traffic to one lane on US 27 near Flaghole Road. on Wednesday, August 23, and on Thursday, August 24, to allow crews and heavy equipment to install landscaping. Crews are expected to be working in the area from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. both days, weather permitting.

SR 78 in Ortona. (Maintenance project) Crews will be performing routine maintenance of the shoulder area of the roadway with lane closures. Travelers can expect flaggers and maintenance personnel on Tuesday, August 22, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
