CLEWISTON — Hendry Regional Medical Center (HRMC) has proudly achieved The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Accreditation, affirming the medical center’s dedication to providing continuous compliance with the highest performance standards in healthcare. The Gold Seal is a distinguished symbol of quality that reflects HRMC’s commitment to delivering safe and exceptional patient care.

The accreditation process involved a rigorous, unannounced onsite review conducted in October, during which a team of Joint Commission reviewers thoroughly assessed HRMC’s compliance with standards. The evaluation covered critical areas such as emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, medication management, and rights and responsibilities of the individual.

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts, providers, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus, serving as a benchmark for healthcare organizations to measure, assess, and enhance their performance. The surveyors not only conducted comprehensive onsite observations but also engaged in interviews to gain a holistic understanding of HRMC’s commitment to excellence.

Ken Grubbs, DNP, MBA, RN, Executive Vice President of Accreditation and Certification Operations and Chief Nursing Officer at The Joint Commission, commended HRMC, stating, “As a healthcare accreditor, The Joint Commission works with healthcare organizations across care settings to inspire safer and higher quality care that is more equitable and compassionate. We commend Hendry Regional Medical Center for its commitment to advance safety, quality, equity, and compassion for all patients.”

The Gold Seal of Approval® signifies HRMC’s adherence to The Joint Commission’s stringent standards, reflecting its ongoing commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.

R.D. Williams, CEO, emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating, “Earning The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team at Hendry Regional Medical Center. This recognition reinforces our commitment to providing the highest quality of care to our community.”

Hendry Regional Medical Center remains dedicated to advancing safety, quality, and compassionate healthcare for all patients.
