WELLINGTON — Many supporters came out for the LEAF Sneaker Ball. The Lake Educational Advancement Foundation Inc. (LEAF), established by the Mu Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, hosted its first Scholarship Sneaker Ball on Saturday, Sept. 23,  at the Wellington Community Center at 12150 Forest Hill Blvd in Wellington.

The Sneaker Ball was where fashion meets philanthropy. Attendees partied for a great cause. Festivities included DJ Big Show, Picture That 360, Perfectly Pour’d and recognition of community partners and featured sponsors, hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

All proceeds will fund programs and initiatives that have a direct impact on the community’s adolescents and families as well as help to fund scholarships for graduating seniors in the Belle Glade, Pahokee, South Bay and Clewiston.

Lake Educational Advancement would like to extend a sincere thank you everyone who attended the Sneaker Ball event and/or donated. It is because of you all that the foundation exceeded their fundraising goal for this event.
