Mavis Juanita “Nita” Wilson

Mavis Juanita “Nita” Wilson entered into eternal rest on May 20, 2023 at the age of 80. She was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on April 18, 1943 to James and Annie Belle McClure.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harold McClure, her husband Wayne Billingsley and her husband of 52 years, Joseph “Jay” Wilson. She is survived by her brother James McClure Jr, her children Joyce Lassett (Charles), Bill Billingsley and Patti Williams, her grandchildren Jason Taylor (Stephanie), Byron Taylor (Joanna),  Brandi Pannell (Allen), Logan Drake, Jayden Williams and Jenna Williams, and four great-grandchildren Nathan Taylor, Lauren Taylor, Bryson Billingsley and Case Criswell.
Nita retired from the Hendry County School Board in 2005 after 25 years of impacting hundreds of children’s lives. Prior to that she taught Preschool at First Baptist Church in LaBelle for many years. She loved and served her Savior tirelessly.
Nita had a vivacious spirit and a true zest for life and will be missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at Ft. Denaud Cemetery on Friday, June 23rd at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
