North Fort Myers man arrested on drug charges

Posted

CLEWISTON — During the early morning hours of Aug. 19, 2023, Hendry County Sergeant D. McNeil placed 23-year-old Joshua David Walls under arrest on multiple narcotics charges.

McNeil reportedly witnessed Walls driving in excess of the posted speed limit; McNeil also observed Walls’ driving routine which caused him to believe that the driver was either intoxicated, sick, injured or the vehicle may be experiencing mechanical issues. McNeil initiated a traffic stop, contacting the driver identified as Joshua Walls of North Ft. Myers. It was during this time that the deputy claimed he could smell what he recognized to be marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Walls was then asked to exit his vehicle and reportedly consented to a search of the vehicle.

Sgt. McNeil allegedly located within the vehicle marijuana, cocaine, oxycodone pills, and a THC Vape cartridge.

Walls was placed under arrest and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of controlled substance without a prescription, possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment to transport drugs.

On Aug. 19, 2023, Walls was released on a $17,500 bond.
