HENDRY COUNTY -- Two people were critically injured and one killed in a vehicular accident on State Road 29 near A road, at 3:14 p.m. on Feb. 26, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to FHP Trooper Parks’ report, vehicle 1, a van driven by a 61-year-old LaBelle man was traveling west on A Road, approaching the posted stop sign intersection of State Road 29. Vehicle 2, another van, driven by a 50-year-old LaBelle man, was traveling north on State Road 29, approaching the intersection of A Road.
Vehicle 1 violated the right of way of vehicle 2, the FHP report states. The front of vehicle 2 collided with the left side of vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 came to rest against the State Road 29 west side guardrail. Vehicle 2 rotated and came to rest on the left turn lane of southbound State Road 29.
A 28-year-old male passenger in vehicle 2 was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The driver of vehicle 2 was critically injured. The driver of vehicle 1 was also critically injured.
