HENDRY COUNTY -- A pedestrian died in an accident on State Road 29, just after midnight, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the FHP Trooper G. Zimmerly's report, the accident occured at 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 27.
A pickup truck driven by a 32-year-old Felda man was traveling south on State Road 29, approaching E Road, according to the report. The pedestrian, a 58-year-old LaBelle man, was walking in the southbound lane of State Road 29. The pickup collided with the pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.
The pickup truck driver was not injured. Two passengers in the vehicle, a 7-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy, were also uninjured. The driver and both passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the FHP report.
The crash remains under investigation.
