OKEECHOBEE – There’s good news for those in Okeechobee who have been waiting for news about the Bass Pro project.
At the Aug. 26, 2021 meeting of the Okeechobee County Board of Commissioners, County Attorney Wade Vose said he has heard from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that their report should be finished within 30 days.
He said he is working to set up an online meeting with officials from Okeechobee County, Bass Pro and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to go over any remaining questions.
Big Cedar LLC (the resort arm of Bass Pro) has plans to turn the Okee-Tantie Recreation Area into a world class fishing resort. They have been waiting on approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to put in a second marina, which will be exclusive to resort guests.
