MOORE HAVEN -- Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) wants to use Industrial Drive as a bypass to connect SR 78 to US 27 while work is underway on SR 78.
At their July 24 meeting, the Glades County Commission considered a temporary license agreement with FDOT for FDOT to use Industrial Drive for the construction of roadway improvements for the unpaved portion of Industrial Drive, including a connection with US 27 so that Industrial Drive can be used as a bypass for the SR 78/US 27 intersection during FDOT’s repair work.
FDOT would bear the cost of paving the rest of Industrial Drive.
The commissioners agreed to have the county attorney negotiate the terms.
