GLADES COUNTY -- On Oct, 26, 2023, at approximately 4:15 PM, the Glades County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service at 1111 10th Street in Buckhead Ridge in reference to man who had been shot. Upon arrival the deputies found Ronnie Thompson (74 years of age) deceased from a single gun shot wound. Detectives were notified and began investigating the incident. The case is still an active investigation, however at this time, we believe that victim took his own life and no foul play is involved. The Sheriff’s Office believes there is no threat to the citizens of Buckhead Ridge because of this incident.
