MOORE HAVEN – Marine Toys for Tots will have a separate distribution for Glades County children this year, according to information shared at the June 26 meeting of the Glades County Commission. In past years, Glades County has been combined with Hendry County.

The national organization provides toys for ages birth to 13. A Toys for Tots representative explained they need local donations to provide gifts for children ages 14 to 17.

The commissioners voted to donate $500 from promotions budget for Marine Toys for Tots to purchase toys for children ages 14-17. The Toys for Tots organization will purchase the toys, which they are able to obtain at a discount. Toys for ages 14-17 may be items such as soccer balls and skateboards.
