Letter to the Editor: Programs needed for inmates

Posted

I thought just this simple classic hand written letter would do, my name is Derrick Goree. There is something I’d like to say to people, it’s a waste of time for me at this institution, Okeechobee Correctional Institution, because they refuse to let me take the programs that I need to make it once I am released from security.

Where I’m at right now is a drug winter haven, and disobedient, people who have given up on life because of their surroundings. These people don’t care about inmates who sometimes can or are living a productive life. If they did I would not be at this institution.

I would like to be where I could get some help, there is no excuse for stupidity. I am asking for a transfer to a institution down south so I can really get the help I need.

Respectively submitted,
Derrick Goree
