David H. Karlson, III a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, in Atlantis, FL, at the age of 63. Born on July 6, 1960, in Pahokee, FL, David’s early years were marked by a warm, vibrant family life and a community that would shape his generous spirit.
David’s professional journey began at Hendry General Hospital in Clewiston, FL, where his dedi-cation and hard work left a lasting impact. He later continued his career at Publix in Ft. Pierce, where he was not just an employee but a beloved member of the Publix family. His colleagues knew him as a man who brought both diligence and humor to the workplace, creating an environment that many considered a second home.
Beyond his professional life, David’s passions were as rich and varied
as the life he led. An avid fi sherman, he found solace and joy in the tranquility of the waters. His love for video games was matched only by
his enthusiasm for NASCAR, a sport he followed with fervent excitement. However, the greatest joy in David’s life was the time he spent with his family. The bonds he shared with them were unbreakable and defi ned by love, laughter, and a multitude of cherished memories.
David’s kind and loving nature was a beacon of light for his family. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Karlson; his sisters, Janice Raup (Martin), Karen Karlson, and Jackie McDavid (Charles); his brother, Darren Karlson
(Cheryl); and a host of adoring nieces and nephews. Each fam-ily member carries forward the legacy of David’s kindness, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering support.
Those who knew David will remember him as a man of great humor and warmth. His ability to make others laugh was unmatched, and his kindness was felt by everyone he met. David’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
David H. Karlson, III lived a life marked by love, laughter, and a profound dedication to his family. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the indelible mark he has left on our lives. His memory will be treasured forever, and his light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family will invite friends to visit Friday, March 15, 2024 at 12PM until the service begins at 1PM at Yates Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1101 South US 1, Ft. Pierce, FL 34950.
