The Seventh District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and Global Health and Community Service, Inc. will host a national webinar entitled “Diabetes Awareness – Type One and Two”. The webinar will feature Dr. Tiwalade Awosanya, the interim Chief of Endocrinology at Meharry Medical College and Nashville General Hospital. Dr. Awosanya is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Mr. James Bruin, Jr. will share his riveting journey with pre-diabetes and diabetes. Mr. Bruin works for the U.S. Small Business Administration. Ms. Barbara Williams, a Certified Health Coach with a specialty in Diabetes Prevention, will address nutrition.

Join to learn about the causes, symptoms, current research, and treatment options for diabetes.

• What is diabetes? What should my blood sugar be?
• What is an A1c?
• What are my goals regarding blood sugar levels?
• Why does it matter if my blood sugar is 120 or 200?
